Bushra Ansari is one of Pakistan’s most admired television personalities, known for her remarkable career as an actress, comedian, singer, host, and writer. Over the decades, she has delivered memorable performances in hit productions including Aangan Terha, Fifty Fifty, Badlon Par Basera, Bilqees Kaur, Udaari, Barat Series, Pardes, Tere Bin, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, and Very Filmy. She is currently winning praise for her role in Geo TV’s Shaidai. Alongside acting, Bushra regularly shares glimpses of her daily life through her successful YouTube vlogs.
Recently, Bushra Ansari appeared on FYPodcast, hosted by Frieha Altaf, where she candidly discussed her divorce from Iqbal Ansari. During the conversation, she reflected on the challenges of being married to a successful public figure and suggested that her fame became difficult for her former husband to cope with.
Speaking about their relationship, Bushra said that she rarely talks about her ex-husband because he was a highly intelligent man and one of PTV’s finest directors. However, she explained that they had very different personalities and backgrounds, which often created misunderstandings. According to Bushra, insecurities and emotional struggles can affect any relationship, adding that living with a well-known woman is not easy for many men.
She also mentioned that her drama Pakeeza was inspired by similar emotions. In the play, the husband eventually admits that his insecurities led him to mistreat his successful wife because he constantly felt overshadowed by her popularity.
Bushra further emphasized that people are not necessarily bad but often have different personalities and are dealing with their own internal struggles. She added that men also face emotional battles that they sometimes fail to understand themselves.
Talking about her decision to end the marriage, Bushra admitted that she does not consider herself exceptionally wise and believes that, at times, people simply want to escape difficult situations. She shared that her parents never encouraged her to tolerate abuse, and her father always advised her never to oppress anyone or accept oppression. Although she tried to leave the marriage before, apologies and hopes of reconciliation made her stay. Bushra also praised Iqbal Ansari as a caring father, saying he now shares a close bond with their daughters and grandchildren, while she handled most of the responsibilities during their childhood.
